Health Technology Wales to resume Appraisal Panel meetings and Guidance process
As health and care systems start to return to normal activities, Health Technology Wales (HTW) will resume our Appraisal Panel meetings and the publication of new national Guidance.
The Appraisal Panel will meet virtually on Tuesday 28 July 2020 and the topics for discussion are:
- Cardiopulmonary exercise testing
- Autologous haematopoietic stem cell transplantation
We’ve continued our normal evidence appraisal work throughout the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, so that we’d be ready to formulate new national Guidance when it’s appropriate.
After previously suspending the appraisal and Guidance processes on 17 March 2020, we’re comfortable that resuming these processes next month is appropriate.

More:
Over the last three months, we’ve been working with our partners in health and social care to support the response to COVID-19. Our work has helped key committees and groups, in and outside of Wales, to make evidence-informed decisions amidst a rapidly developing and unprecedented situation.
We’ve produced evidence reviews, regularly updated an evidence digest, provided free scientific advice for innovators of COVID-19 technologies, and collaborated with the wider health technology assessment (HTA) and research communities.
