In Memoriam – Adrian Mironas
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our colleague Adrian Mironas who passed away on Monday January 24th.
Adrian joined HTW as a Health Services Researcher in October 2019 and was a highly valued member of our team who will be greatly missed both personally and professionally.
Before joining HTW he completed a BSc in Biochemistry and MPhil in Molecular Biology and pursued a PhD in Clinical Diagnosis and Disease Management. He then worked within the NHS and became passionate about innovation in healthcare.
During his time with HTW he established a reputation as a highly conscientious researcher who approached his work with integrity and openness. His is particularly remembered for his work on researching molecular diagnostic tests to detect Covid-19 which has been influential in informing the global response to the pandemic.
Adrian was an extremely caring individual who always took the time to ask after his colleagues, take an interest in their work and support them in difficult times. He was known for his immaculate sense of style, engaging presence, positivity, and great sense of humour, which brought a sense of fun to every project he worked on. He always brought a fresh perspective to conversations with colleagues – whether work related or about his love of cinema and all things Italian.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Adrian’s family at this very sad time, and we send them our deepest sympathies.
