We’re looking for a new Non-Executive Director to help us make Wales the place of choice for health and social care investment. We need people with experience of the life sciences and or the health and social care sector to provide strategic insight and support this bold vision.
Our organisation helps life science innovation to reach our health and social care frontline. It’s a particularly exciting time to join our team and make a genuine difference by creating physical and economic well-being for the people of Wales.
About the role
To support our strategic aims and objectives, we’re looking for people with a background in senior leadership within the health or life sciences sectors. You will be passionate about cultivating opportunities that drive economic growth and strengthen the industry and NHS interface. This will help us deliver health and social care transformation in Wales.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Analysing and critically reviewing complex information and contributing to sound decision-making, strategy development.
- Advising our Board on key issues – offering your opinions and challenging when appropriate.
- Supporting our CEO in appointing senior staff and mentoring existing staff.
- Overseeing the effective stewardship of resources, ensuring openness and accountability in the allocation and utilisation of resources.
- Advocating for our organisation across the life sciences sector.
Becoming a Non-Executive Director also gives you the opportunity to create connections with people and organisations across the sector.
We are looking for the post-holder to be a fluent Welsh-speaker.
What is expected from a Non-Executive Director?
Our Board Members need to be available to work for us a minimum of 12 days each year. The Board meets at least six times a year.
You will be renumerated at a day rate of £282 up to a £15,000 per annum (pro rata) plus travel and subsistence.
