Health Technology Wales (HTW) is excited to present part two of its webinar series for patient representatives to learn about health technology assessment (HTA).

In part two, patient groups and organisations are invited to explore the concept of a health technology and how these can have an impact on patient lives.

The 90-minute webinar is called ‘Technologies and topics’ and will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday 24 March 2021. There are limited spaces available – click here to register.

“We’re really pleased to give patient representatives the opportunity to learn more about us,” said Alice Evans, HTW Patient and Public Involvement Officer. “It’s important to bring patients’ experience to the heart of our work and the webinar will address queries around what we mean when we talk about health technologies and what technologies matter to patients.

“By the end of the webinar, patient representatives will be equipped with the confidence and knowledge of how best to work with HTW. We’ll explore the concept of ‘topics’ and use real life examples to go through the practical steps that patient representatives can take to make a difference for their communities.”

The webinar will be hosted by Karen Facey, Evidence Based Health Policy Consultant, and patient representatives will be joined by HTW researchers in interactive workshop activities.

Participants are required to watch ‘Webinar 1: Introducing HTW and Patient Involvement.’ This will be emailed to you to watch ahead of ‘Webinar 2: Technologies and topics’ on 24 March 2021.

SAVE THE DATE – Webinar 3: ‘Suggesting topics to HTW’ will take place at 11am on Wednesday 27 April 2021.
